Twin Ports Juneteenth

Twin Ports Junetheenth is a annual celebration in the Duluth MN & Superiro WI (Twin Ports) community and is held on Barker’s Island. Juneteenth a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans.  It is also often observed for celebrating African-American culture. Even after the emancipation day, slavery went on in the south for several days. This event commemorates the time frame when the word finally got to the south.
