The Eyo Festival | MAYEGUN

Eyo Festival was originally staged at Oke Ipa but it later moved to Lagos Island. Back in the days, the Eyo Festival is held to escort the soul of a departed Lagos King or important Chief and to usher in a new king. The white-clad Eyo Masquerades represent the spirit of the dead and are referred to as Agogoro Eyo, as in Tall Eyo.
